PROLOGUE

Ephesians 3.18-19

...that you might have the outgoing passion with all believers to internalize the width, and length, and height and depth of experiencing the excellent love of Christ, the purpose of this is? God fills you completely with Himself.
A modern translation of the Greek New Testament Text

Depth. Integrity. Legacy. What will we give the next generation of leaders and Christ followers? Will we donate depth or division? What is the legacy of our love?

The purpose of this work is your personal depth. The study of the New Testament in the original Greek is a journey of integrity. Through the accurate and intensive devotion to the original text we leave a legacy of wholeness. The result-so the next generation will depend not on the words of men, but may rely on the Spirit-inspired word of God in its beauty, clarity, and passion.

Here you will find the Christ, hear the slap of Galilean sandals, feel the fear of first century man, and breathe in peace. You will sit with him sensing the heart of God beating love and invitation as though you were the only reader on the planet-as though the Message was written with you and you alone in mind.

In your hands is a remarkable journey; not just a book. Come and choose depth. I will help you. What will you do? What will you bring as a gift to those who follow?

What a legacy...what a Savior...what a Book. Walk with me for a while.

What You Can Expect

You can expect that A Dumbell's Guide to Greek will be user friendly. There are eight chapters, one for each part of speech. This is important so that when you have a grammatical question you can access the relevant information in a single location. You will also find a translation theory. In fact, the order of chapters corresponds to the theory reinforcing not only the nuts and bolts of Greek, but how to approach a text.

One of the thrills of first year students is to interact with the Greek text. Every exercise is taken from the New Testament. Immediately you will handle the Greek Bible...this is a tremendous motivational tool.

You will also find a system to identify verbs and participles. In the back of the book there is an appendix to provide you with more advanced information.

Finally, the study of New Testament Greek has gone cyber. This book comes with an individual access code. The original purchaser of A Dumbell's Guide to Greek is entitled to free online tutorial.
